Whether you are new to ruler work or are looking to get some tips and tricks to make the most out of your rulers, one of our lectures or classes can help you! Our goal is for you to see that ruler work is not scary and jump into getting that stack of quilt tops quilted at HOME!

Silly Moon Quilting Co. is a Fraser Valley, British Columbia based business that designs and makes machine quilting rulers and tools for the quilting industry. We are a small family business that saw a need for quality, unique machine quilting rulers for domestic and longarm machines and jumped in to supply that need!

If you would like your group or guild to learn more about ruler quilting and getting those quilts quilted, we would love to Zoom in to a guild meeting or retreat and share some quilty tips and tricks.

We currently offer two different lectures taught via Zoom. Each of the lectures is 45 min plus 15 min for questions, but can be tailored to your Guild.

Option #1: Quilting with rulers - It is not scary!
*
Get ready to dive into the world of quilting rulers, where fear takes a backseat! This lecture is your golden ticket to mastering the art of ruler work without breaking a sweat. We’ll kick things off with the essentials you need to jump in, celebrate why ruler work is totally awesome, and highlight what to look for in the perfect rulers. Plus, prepare for a dazzling tour through examples that range from super simple to mind-blowingly complex—your quilts are about to level up!

Option #2: Let's Get Those Quilts Quilted!
*
Let's tackle the dreaded "Quilt As Desired" we have all come to hate!
In this lecture, you will learn how quick it can be to get your quilts quilted on your home machine but have them look like they were professionally done!
This colourful presentation will also include beautiful examples of quilts and other projects that give you a visual walk-through different methods of completing your quilts.
You will learn tips and tricks for setting up your workspace and machine, preparing your quilt, choose a design, how to quilt it and how to finish it whether you want to include ruler work or not!
Let Kellie help you get those quilt tops from WIPs to DONE and have them look fantastic and enjoy the process.
Workshops:
Option #1: Introduction to Ruler Work

In this class you will learn the basics of ruler work by doing! We will cover how to set up your machine for ruler work, why we do ruler work, how to create several different designs using these rulers and a ton of helpful tips! A PDF pattern is supplied to make a table topper ahead of time, but plain quilt sandwiches are also perfectly acceptable and more will be explained in the supply list.
This class is taught using Zoom and allows you to “look over the shoulder” while the techniques are taught, while having Kellie there as an instructor to guide you.
Please note: Silly Moon Quilting Co. Rulers "Charming and Edgie 6" are required for this class if the designs are to be completed as instructed
Requirements: Ruler foot for your machine, required rulers and the willingness to learn - no ruler quilting experience required.

Option #2: Perfect Circles, Perfect Lines
*
In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn how to use rulers to create perfect circles and perfect lines on your quilts. We will also expand and combine these two rulers to create some beautiful designs that you can add to your quilting toolbox.
Please note: Silly Moon Quilting Co. Rulers "Cheezie" and "Edgie 6" are required for this class if the designs are to be completed as instructed
Requirements: Ruler foot for your machine, required rulers and the willingness to learn - No previous ruler work experience is required.
